What resulted from Britain's inability to provide financial support for Greese and Turkey?

America stepped in (when British informed the U.S. they couldn't support Greece and Turkey), because they felt Greece and Turkey might fall under the Soviet sphere of influence. So president Harry Truman issued the Truman Doctrine which was a policy stating that the U.S. would support Greece and Turkey with economic and military aid to prevent them falling into the Soviet Sphere.
