Write the object pronouns that would correctly complete each sentence. Felipe vende la casa a los hermanos Vega. Felipe _____ _____ vende.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you already have an answer for this, and you're just checking your answer? Or would you like some help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. You see the first sentence? "Felipe vende la casa a los hermanos." You know how we say that in English?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

VENDER means TO SELL.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Philip sold the house to the Vega brothers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not sold. Google Translate did it wrong. SELLS. Present tense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"Felipe sells the house to the Vega brothers." Okay so here's something Google Translate can't do for us, but you can. What's the VERB?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vende?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah. In English, "sells." You can give me the English answer. ~~~~~~~~~ What's the DIRECT OBJECT? What is Felipe selling?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry was afk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He is selling the house

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right. The DIRECT OBJECT is the HOUSE. ~~~~~~~~~~~ So finally, what's the INDIRECT OBJECT? Who is he selling the house to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Felipe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

FELIPE is the one SELLING the house. Who is he actually selling it TO?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops he's selling it to the brothers I read ur sentence wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Awesome. The INDIRECT OBJECT is the BROTHERS. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Now, do you know what PRONOUNS are?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Looks to me like you're busy right now. Let me give you a run through of Spanish pronouns. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spanish DIRECT OBJECT pronouns: Lo -- singular/masculine Los -- plural/masculine La -- singular/feminine Las -- plural/feminine ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Spanish INDIRECT OBJECT pronouns: Me -- me Te -- you Le -- him/her Les -- them ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The first thing we needed to do was find THREE THINGS: 1. Verb 2. Direct object 3. Indirect object ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After that, we need to substitute the DIRECT and INDIRECT objects, with their correct pronouns. For example, if the DIRECT OBJECT is LA CASA (the house), the PRONOUN for is would be LA, because it is SINGULAR/FEMININE. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Put your final answer in THIS order: 1. Indirect object pronoun 2. Direct object pronoun 3. Verb. For EXAMPLE (and this is not the answer, just an example): SENTENCE: "Tú das la manzana a mi." ENGLISH: "You give the apple to me." FINAL ANSWER: "Me la das." ENGLISH: "You give me it." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And here's one final tip: If the DIRECT and INDIRECT object pronouns both start with the letter L, change the INDIRECT OBJECT pronoun to SE. Remember that one. It's important.
