2. What association would you expect if graphing height and weight? (1 point) positive nonlinear negative none of these

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so we're talking about graphs. Let's pretend that HEIGHT is on the X AXIS, and WEIGHT is on the Y AXIS. I'll explain each of the answers for you, and you will choose the one that seems to make the most sense, okay? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A POSITIVE association means that.... if HEIGHT INCREASES, WEIGHT also INCREASES. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A NON-LINEAR association means that.... HEIGHT and WEIGHT are totally UNAFFECTED by one another, and they are totally UNRELATED. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A NEGATIVE association means that.... If HEIGHT INCREASES, then WEIGHT DECREASES. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now, which one makes the most sense? You can take a look at these graphs too: http://education-portal.com/cimages/multimages/16/refimages_correlation_graphs.gif

Oh, by the way, this isn't exactly a Language & Culture question. Next time, try asking in one of the science sections, like biology, chemistry, or physics. Even psychology. You'll get an answer sooner, that way.
