help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10. y = x² – 2x – 2 y = 4x + 5 (1 point) (–1, 1) and (–7, –23) (–1, 1) and (7, 33) (–1, 33) and (7, 1) no solution

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

we could just plug in our x's and y's and see if the equations are true....(x,y)

hartnn (hartnn):

or you could use a formula : Compare your quadratic equation with \(ax^2+bx+c=0\) find \[a=...?\\b=...?\\c=...?\] \[ \\\ {b^2-4ac}=...?\] if \( \\\ {b^2-4ac}=...?\) is positive, then there is a solution if \( \\\ {b^2-4ac}=...?\) is negative, then there is no solution
