In the Pacific Northwest, El Nino creates warm, sunny and early springs followed by summers slightly-drier than normal. Winters are surprisingly similar, compared to ENSO experiences in othern parts of the country (like the Southwest). El Nino winters are usually associated with warmer and drier than normal conditions. You'll tend to experience dry, mild but foggy winters. Drier = less precipitation = less umbrella use
