OpenStudy (dean.shyy):

Does art history contribute to art value and auction prices?

OpenStudy (zale101):

All i know is that If the Art's age is way old, the higher the action prices goes. Have you ever went to the museum or attending an art gallery. Have you analyzed what art is expensive and what art is cheap. Sorry if i had understood your question wrong.

OpenStudy (zale101):

Arts that are well drawn and have strong morals in them can be expensive and so do older arts.

Usually, when someone finalizes a drawing, it may or may not be of high value. The direction of value for art pieces can vary. The question was asking whether art history contributes to the value of the art piece itself. Some would say that it goes both ways. However, in the form of art, anything historical adds value to it. An analogy example would be whether an artist's past criminal record would boost their career success. For this example, there have been artists who have and have not been successful due to their criminal background. I do not want to name the various artists in both these categories, but you can do some research on this.
