Are these nuclear fusion equations balanced? 1. 35 1 36 17 Cl + 1 H --> 18 Ar 2. 4 12 16 2 He + 6 C --> 8 O 3. 4 16 20 2 He + 8 O --> 10 Ne 4. 12 16 28 6 C + 8 O --> 14 Si 5. 4 20 24 2 He + 10 Ne --> 12 Mg 6. 16 16 32 8 O + 8 O --> 16 S If they aren't balanced, what is the proper balanced version for each?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

when balancing nuclear equations, you always have to balance 2 things: total atomic number, and total mass number. As long as those 2 balance, the nuclear equation is balanced

So the equations would be balanced as they are?

OpenStudy (jfraser):

you tell me ;-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It appears that they do. I seek only confirmation :)

OpenStudy (jfraser):

they are

Thank you JFraser :)
