the table shows a players completed passes out of attempted passes in four football games game completed passes attempted passes 1 12 24 2 4 16 3 15 20 4 9 27 in which game did the player have the GREATEST ratio of completed passes to attempted passes?? A. GAME 1 B. GAME 2 C. GAME 3 D. GAME 4
@jim_thompson5910
so we can set these all to ratios and simplify right? game1 12:24 game2 4:16 game3 15:20 game4 9:27 now we ask ourselves...what numbers can go into both the top..and bottom number of the fractions in each game 12:24 ...well 12 can go into 12 AND 24....so that simplifies to 1:2 4:16 ...well 4 can go into 4 AND 16 so that simplifys into 1:4 15:20...well 5 can go into both right? so that becomes 3:4 9:27...9 goes into both right? so this becomes 1:3 now....which is greater? 1/2 , 1/4, 3/4, 1/3? .50 .25 .75 .33 which is greater? what game is that?
i have to simplify them all???!!!
well..yes it makes it easier...or you could have just plugged them all into the calculator and see what the biggest decimal is.....in this case...i have done it for you above
ok thank you wait here
i got all the same answers!! what do i do next??
@johnweldon1993
okay....so now which is bigger? the bigger number means the more passes they caught. if someone caught 25% of their passes, is that bigger than 50%...75%? 33^? what is the bigger proportion? .25, .50, .75, .33? meaning....which is closer to 1?
i think its 15:20
@johnweldon1993
sorry about that...correct :)....which is game ....?
game 3??
there you go :)
