The "Frankenstein story" that is presented in this movie is the creation of life and the consequences of it. The tone of this movie is a lot different because it is darker and more evil, with more destruction than anything else. It is also very graphic and more intense.

Unlike Prometheus, Victor abandons the monster. Victor is certainly punished throughout the story. He loses everyone he loves, and is driven mad at the end by seeking to destroy the monster.
