1 mile = 5280 feet
4*1 mile = 4*5280 feet ... Multiply both sides by 4.
4 miles = ??? feet
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
oh you can just stop at line 2 since they don't want the final answer

then I multiplied both sides by 4
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
since I want to turn that "1 mile" into "4 miles"
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
make sense?
OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that basically means you multiply 5280 by 4
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
to find out how many feet are in 4 miles
OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think about it this way, if one mile is that four of them would just be adding them together, so a simplier way would be to multiply it by the number of miles you are trying to find.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i got 21,120
jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
that's how many feet are in 4 miles
