Solve for x: the quantity of x plus 16 all over 3 = 3x x = −7 x = −13 x = 8 x = 2 Question 2 (Multiple Choice Worth 2 points) Solve for x: 1 over 4 (2x − 14) = 4 x = 15 x = 15 over 2 x = 9 x = 11 Question 3 (Multiple Choice Worth 2 points) Solve for x: the quantity of x plus 4 all over 2 = 7 x = 3 x = 5 x = 6 x = 10 Question 4 (Multiple Choice Worth 2 points) Solve for x: 2 over 3x + 1 = 27 x = 13 x = 26 x = 39 x = 40 Question 5 (Multiple Choice Worth 2 points) Solve for x: 4 over 3x + 2 over 3 = 6 x = 4 x = 3 x
For the first one you would try to get rid of the 3 that is in the denominator so you would multiply both sides by 3. After doing this you would get x+16=9x after this you would subtract the x that is in your left and end up with 16=8x after this you divide by 8 both sides and end up with x=2 :)
the same idea applies for the rest of the problems :)
