do you mean you want to find the equation of the line parallel to the equation of the line given

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes I'm sorry I wasn't clear on my my question.

parallel line have the same slope. find the slope of the equation of the line given to you and it would be the same as that of the parallel line..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thanks!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is not all

you know the equation of a straight line, y=mx+c where m is the slope and c is the y-intercept..... substitute the value of your slope and the x- and y- coordinate given into y=mx+c to find your y intercept..
