Help? In a hospital, several patients became infected with a bacterium after surgery. The patients are not responding to antibiotics. By what type of disease are these patients likely infected, and why is it such a risk? (2 points)
Well they're probably infected by bacteria that are resistant to drugs. And today, many bacteria are resistant to medication. One very well known example is.....MRSA. It stands for "Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus." It's METHICILLIN RESISTANT, you see. METHICILLIN is an antibiotic, derived from penicillin. It's a risk, obviously because drugs may not be able to cure whoever is sick from this disease. Therefore, it runs a high chance of spreading to others, and causing some nasty damage.
Thank you!
