Mrs. Jones decided to buy some pencils for her class. She bought 6 packages of pencils, and each package contained 50 pencils. There are 25 students in her class and she divided up the pencils so that each student had the same amount of pencils. If there were no pencils left over, how many pencils did each student get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 packs of pencils with 50 in each equals (50 x 6) = 300 pencils. Now divide the number of pencils by the number of students...300/25 = 12. Each students will receive 12 pencils. check...25 x 12 = 300 (correct)
