A remainder is the amount left over when you divide this larger number into 14 equal sized chunks So say you have 100 cookies and you divide it amongst 14 people. Each person would get 7 cookies and there would be 2 cookies left over (since 100/14 = 7 remainder 2)

yep because that's the only number smaller than 14 the remainder is ALWAYS smaller than the number you're dividing into
