Which equation is equivalent to –3x + y = 5? A. y = 5 – 3x B. y = 5 + 3x C. y = –3x – 5 D. y = 3x – 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3x+y=5 y=3x+5 which is the same thing as B. y=5+3x

^.^ hope it helps.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Add the same quantity to both sides of the equation. Since all choices have y alone on the left side, that means you want to get rid of the -3x term from the left side, so add 3x to both sides of the equation.
