difference between microevolution and macroevolution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a macroevolutionary change is when new species are created(change above the species level) a microevolutionary change is when species stays the same(change below the species level) think of it as a difference in scale, if you look really close at this screen you will see a lot of small dots made of differen't colors, if you move back you'll see a vary well defined images, the small dots is like micro evolution the whole image is like macroevolution.

OpenStudy (dean.shyy):

Think of the prefix addition to the word "evolution." Micro is based on information of evolution on a microscopic level. Macro is based on the broader scale of information of evolution.
