Can you please help me define 'Prose in Literature?'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't want the direct answer, please. I really want to know why. Below is the Question & answer choices. Q. Which of the following is NOT an example of prose literature? Answe Options: a novel an article an epic poem a nonfiction story My thoughts: "Prose is a form of language which applies ordinary grammatical structure and natural flow of speech rather than rhythmic structure (as in traditional poetry)." ~Wikipedia a novel - Seems applicable an article - Not sure as it's expository writing, which tends to have a more formal, unnatural tone, so this is a possiblity for the answer. an epic poem - I can't remember is epics follow a rhyme scheme. If they do, I'd say this is the answer. a nonfiction story- Also seems applicable Can you please help?? Thank you!!
