OpenStudy (kamille):

There is a cube, which has a surface area of 96. This cube is divided into smaller cubes. The edge of these cubes is 1. How many smaller cubes are?

OpenStudy (kamille):

Anyone has an idea how I should solve it?

OpenStudy (kamille):

@Mertsj

OpenStudy (mertsj):

If the cube has surface 96 then each face has area 16 and so the dimensions of the cube are 4 by 4 by 4. Does that help?

OpenStudy (kamille):

So, there are 64 cubes?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

yes. Each layer would be 4 rows of cubes. There would be 4 cubes in the row. Or 16 cubes per layer. There would be 4 layers.

OpenStudy (kamille):

i get it now : ) Thank you a lot!

OpenStudy (mertsj):
