Multiply and simplify: (x – 2)(x2 – 8x + 9)

Well they are all in parenthesis, so first start by simplifying. Start with the first problem that's in parenthesis, which is: (x - 2). That would be: -2x. Now move on to the other problems that are in parenthesis. In order to solve these problem you should have in mind PEMDAS. Start by subtracting 8x from x2. That would be -6x. So far you have this: -2x( -6x +9) Distribute the -2x -2x multiplied by -6x is 12. Negative and negative makes positive. then distribute the -2x to 9. which is -18. 12x - 18 subtract the 18. there's nothing more that i can simplify -6x. its -6x.
