What was the debate between the North and South when it came to linking the railroad from the East to the West?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the south felt that railroads would make access easier from north east to west, it would make them buddy buddies and would increase trading. this did happen and the south felt left out and as if everything and all the laws only benefited the east and the west. hope this helped at least a little.
