Fred and his brother are both taking driving trips. Fred traveled 409 miles and used 11 gallons of gas. His brother traveled 523 miles and used 13 gallons of gas. 1)Fred told his brother that he gets better gas mileage.Do you agree with Fred? Justify your response by using mathematical language and show any necessary computional work. 2)Is the relationship between miles driven and gas used proportional ? Use a graph below to justify your response.
sor part 1...we find out how many mpg each one gets so divide 409 by 11...and then 523 by 13...what do we get?
409/11=37.181818 523/13=40.230769
correct..... so fred gets 37.18 mpg and his brother gets 40.23 mpg so who gets better gas mileage? do we agree with fred?
Can you show your whole work ?
