okay, leme give you a hint:

always break any projectile motion into 2 components, horizontal and vertical
note that the horizontal motion remains undisturbed since there are no forces acting horizontally, and mg acts downwards vertically
see if it helps your case?

The question is mainly about newton's eqns and mathematical manipulations.
