graph the functions in the same rectangular coordinate system. f(x) =(1/4) x and g(x) = log 1/4 x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A very good way to graph any function is to pick any number of x and then the outcome would be y. Then start plotting these points on the x-y plane and connect them together! Hope I helped.

OpenStudy (zehanz):

Because \(f(x)=\dfrac{1}{4}x\) is a linear (first-degree) function, the graph is a straight line. If you set x=0, you will get y=f(0)=0, so (0, 0) is on the graph. Also, f(4)=1, so (4, 1) is also on the grpah. You've got two points now, so you can draw the line through these points. That covers the first graph :)
