Inequality- tell me what im doing wrong? -5x+10<25 so I subtract both sides by 10. -5x<15 then I divide both sides by -5. the answer I got was x>-3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you multiply or divide by a -ve, the inequality sign flips

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you aren't doing anything wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer I got wasn't right, so there has to be something im doing wrong /:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is correct though any number you plug in which is greater than -3 will solve the equation which is exactly the answer you got

OpenStudy (anonymous):

unless the question isn't asking you to solve for x, and it's asking you for something else

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no its asking for a solution to inequality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the solution to that inequality is x > -3 unless it means like, a single solution or something... like x = -2 or x=-1 etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well thank you,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i cant help any further!
