what is the role of the spindle during mitosis

OpenStudy (frostbite):

The spindle kinda got its name for its function. Can you guess what it's role is with that information?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Spindles are attatched to the centromere (the thing in the center holding the two sister chromatids together) and the spindle fibers are attatched to the centriole. -They help the sister chromatids pull apart during the later stages of Mitosis.
