Random question! If I have a 95.47 average in a course, and my exam is worth 12.76% of my grade and I get a 70% on the exam, what will that bring my overall grade to?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

This is the final exam right?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

or just some other exam?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah my semester exam:P

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

ok so the semester exam is worth 12.76% of your grade this means that the remaining stuff you did beforehand is worth 100 - 12.76 = 87.24% of your grade

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So you would say (Exam Score)*(Exam Weight) + (Remaining Stuff Score)*(Remaining Stuff Weight) (70%)*(12.76%) + (95.47%)*(87.24%) (0.70)*(0.1276) + (0.9547)*(0.8724) 0.08932 + 0.83288028 0.92220028 Now multiply by 100 to get 100*0.92220028 = 92.220028% So your final semester grade is roughly 92.220028%

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So your final grade was dragged down a little bit, but not by much

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Overall, you did very well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, well heeelllll yeeaahhh!! Gaahhh you just made my day good sir(:

lol glad to be of help, congrats on getting a very good grade

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thankyou(:
