What is the inequality of the graph below?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wanna say x <= -3 and x > 5, but im not sure

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

well first...do you know if this an "and"...or and "or" function?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

you want to say...and....okay...well lets look at that...what number would be lessthan or equal to -3....AND greater than 5?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

there are none are there? so this is NOT an "and" function

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

we have a closed circle at 5...and an open at -3.....and shaded in opposite directions so \[x \ge5 \] or \[x <-3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it would be x < -3 and x >= 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops sorry i meant or

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x < -3 or x >= 5

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much! :)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):
