Sensitivity of a potentiometer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know to increase the sensitivity of a potentiometer potential gradient has to be increased. Can we increase sensitivity of a potentiometer by increasing the resistance of the rheostat? I think it will increase as I in the circuit will decrease and potential drop in the wire will decrease. Confirm if i'm right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Mashy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correction: Potential gradient has to be decreased.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shubhamsrg

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DLS shayad pdha nhi hoga tune. :P

OpenStudy (dls):

nice question :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know.

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

I want to give both of you medals but only can give 1 :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pehle samjha. Phir de diyo.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/

OpenStudy (dls):

@shubhamsrg soon @RnR will reach my smartscore which i made in 1 year and he made in 1 week, thanks to you -_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sahi baat. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Aa gye maharaj. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no clue sorry :D..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pot is the one of those things that i till date never understood clearly! :-/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Finally something Mashy doesnt know. OHHHH YESSSSS. :P

OpenStudy (dls):

:")))))))))))

OpenStudy (dls):

worthless piece of pellet!! hahahaha :P

OpenStudy (dls):

@experimentX @Vincent-Lyon.Fr

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Bi... please, he has solved most of my problems. Take that off. :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't really understand the difference between a pot and a rheostat! :-/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so pot is just a rheostat right?

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

ohh itna baat ho gaya yaha pe! :O

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

sensitivity kya hota hai ? L/V na ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm.I doubt. Why would they make another instrument then? :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause pot is more sensitive than rheostat? :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haan. L/v mere khayaal. :P right mashy. :P

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

To inc in l ya fir decrease in current ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

V=IR in the main circuit. So if R is increased as V is constant I has to decrease.

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

haa, wahi.. to I decrease..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup.

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

to ho gaya ques ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070515121658AATiRRL @Mashy tell me what it says. :P

OpenStudy (dls):

Hint: \[\LARGE Concentration=\frac{N}{V}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mai thik hun? Yahi puchna tha?

OpenStudy (dls):

\[\LARGE N=\frac{mass(g)}{mass(a)}\]

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

samjh aa gaya, dls ko medal milega :')

OpenStudy (dls):

:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The resistance in primary circuit will have to be decreased. Ye galat hai na? Meri book me likha hua hai.

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

primary circuit mane ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mereko bhi nhi samajh aaya. Mere khayaal rheostat ki baat hi kr rha hoga. I dont know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nhi.. Primary circuit matlab jo main circuit hai, jahan known emf ki battery lagi hai. vo..

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

sorry dls

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

:P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/

OpenStudy (dls):

..

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

to uske resistance ko ghatayenge , to I badh jayega hmm ?

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

to sensitivity kam honi chaiye thi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm Galat hi hai phir.

OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

meri baat pe itna bharosa na karo, :|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Leh. :/
