I need help factoring out these two problems step by step. 5x^2-2x-7 8x^2-11x+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not too many choices try for example \((5x-7)(x-1)\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually i meant \[(5x-7)(x+1)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know it has to look like \((5x\pm a)(x\pm b)\) and your only choices for \(a\) and \(b\) are \(7\) and \(1\)
