Why were the Japanese-American Internment camps so important and why should current and future Americans learn about this event? Japanese-American Internment camps is an important event and future Americans should learn about it because, it showed how we segregated Japanese and Americans, just because we were at war with them. Yet we didn't have proof that Japanese-Americans did anything illegal... Worst of all most of these camps didn't have the proper resources to feed the Japanese-Americans, which lead them to be malnourished. Many Japanese-Americans when taken to the Internment camp could only bring what they could carry and what they were wearing. So when the Japanese-Americans went home, some other there homes were looted. The condition inside the Internment camps wasn't as bad as the concentration camps of Hitler. But still it wasn't that much of a better improvement, as in people had no privacy, they were surrounded by barbed wire etc. Future Americans should learn about this event so that they can understand what we did, and so we can learn from the mistake we did.
Thank you so much Op!
