Y=x^2+7x+10 What are the x-intercepts of the graph of the equation above? A.(2,0)and(-5,0) B.(2,0)and(5,0) C.(-2,0)and(-5,0) D.(-2,0)and(5,0)

OpenStudy (lasttccasey):

C is correct. Do you understand these?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sort of. It is kind of confusing. Can you explain it?

OpenStudy (raden):

take y = 0 to get x-intercepts in other words x^2+7x+10=0 solve for x

OpenStudy (raden):

factor out will giving us (x+2)(x+5)=0 for zeroes take each fator equal 0 x+2=0 ----> x = -2 x+5=0 ----> x = -5

OpenStudy (raden):

*factor

OpenStudy (raden):

so, the x-intercepts are (-2,0) and (-5,0)

@RadEn Thank you sooo much! That really helped
