can someone show me the steps of how to do synthetic revision to get the x intercepts of this problem ? (x^4+x^2+5)/(x-36)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry the bottom is supposed to be x^2-36

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Do you mean synthetic division?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, i'm sorry. I'm all over the place right now lol.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The x intercepts occur when y is 0. y is 0 if the numerator is 0. x^4+x^2+5=0 has no x intercepts.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Type it into Wolframalpha.com. You will see that there are no x intercepts.

thank you!
