The midpoint of a line segment with end points as (x, 4) and (-2, -2) is (2, 1). What is the value of x? x = 6 x = 4 x = -3 x = -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Start with the midpoint formula. Since we want to find the x-coordinate of the first point, we can set it up just like this... (x+(-2))/2=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solving that equation, we get x-2=4 x=6
