Why do people want deejays to the world..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, if we didn't have djs...yea your right we dont need them whatsoever xDD

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

Mix up that music and play it for em! Djs, really you need em for a Radio.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@karatechopper tk u. I am a DJ and without us a lot of people in this industry would not have their music heard or even played if it wasn't for us.

OpenStudy (karatechopper):

Yea. @jenn0814

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well my dad was a dj and i want to learn i love djs because you can change music.

OpenStudy (dean.shyy):

DJ's are like portable radio stations. They are important because they allow music to be heard at events or places where radios and other communicative means cannot be reach.

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

it depends on what type of DJ you're talking about.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Radio DJ's are there for providing us with new music and music we love. Any other type of DJ is not needed but they provide entertainment to certain people. I would much rather see a live band over anything else though... This could be because I'm a metal musician though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mmmm i am also a dj...

OpenStudy (tanner23456):

I think we could do with out DJ's. We should stick to live performance. A lot more music would be heard by up and coming musicians if there were more live performances. Besides the music genres played by a DJ are biased towards the DJ's taste.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mmmm bt what type of???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

@tanner23456 I agree. and most of these DJ's just mix up commercial pop garbage or electro nonsense.

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

@poopsiedoodle ^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hhhahahaha so true and u know what is CUE ?

OpenStudy (swag):

DJ's turn up the party

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ahahah Lol swag..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I prefer DJs, mostly because if you listen to small-time dubstep like for example Monstercat Media Records and Going Quantum ( They're not really small-time, more than a million subs each....and really good songs!) their artists are DJs ( nearly most, I would say about 45%) and have live performances at nightclubs and other party gatherings whilst doing their career of making moo-sic! So it is all opinion-based. You don't like DJs, hey, rant about it! But if I like what I like and you don't then eat a dolphin.

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

how did you even find this. It's been closed for ages.

As electronic music becomes more ubiquitous, a means of performance is necessary. While other means of performance of electronic music exist, the de-facto method of doing so has been DJ equipment. There do exist other alternatives (such as controllerism), but these are currently met with opposition, judgement, and in some cases even accusations of a lack of musicianship (which is coincidental— the very same accusations were levied against DJs in their formative years after DJ Pacman and Christian Marclay). Until niches of listeners and fans at large quit viewing controllerism or non-disc-based methods of electronic performance with such disdain (heaven forbid the show would be just as fun regardless of how the performer performed it!), DJs and their specific tools and skill sets will continue to be in demand and in vogue.
