How much influence do you think pastors had on society during the Middle Ages in Europe? Explain. 2) What is the mixed life? 3) To lead the mixed life, do you think a prelate or pastor would spend time in a monastery? Explain.
for the first one...In thoes days a paster/prest was considerd higher than any government offical and for the most part was government, what he would say was law. and he was never wrong, it influnced for the most part all of Europe. the Pope especaly was directly under the king in the cathlic religion....which is why today the cathlic church has so many politics. I would give you a websight with more information, but I just got this from my own knowlage.
for #2 I found a definetion for "mixed life" : the length of time during which two or more components will not react unfavorably after intermixing..the third one maby @redred413 can help..but I would say yes, but still not shure :/
Yes because people of mixed life in order to gain any power any atority they needed to be a Pasture, Decon or Bishop................ and i know i spelled them wrong....
@aconley2468 for question #2, The mixed life is when the Christian or Catholic components is intertwined with a regular life outside the church. Only the clergy and pastor's assistants were allowed a mixed life.
