@aaronq Do you know which kind of stain is repelled by the structures of an organism versus the stain that actually reacts with and binds to the structures?

hm it's kinda broad, what kind of structures would these be?

I'm thinking just all the structures (the lipid bilayers), including the membrane and the organelles. I cannot remember which dyes actually stain the structures and which just 'outline' them so-to-speak.
