What did immigration, industrialization, and imperialism have to with each other in the late 1800's??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In my humble opinion (and there are those who will disagree with me here) Industrialism is the impetus for change. It is the growing industrialism of the late 1800's that provides industrial jobs in the cities and makes other professions more mechanized (and therefore needing less man-power). You therefore have immigration from the rural areas to industrial centers (cities), as well as from poorer less developed countries to richer more industrialized countries. This industrialism also drives imperialism, as these industrialized countries need raw materials for their factories\industries to turn into a product for people to buy.
