Pronouns are words that are sometimes used, to replace nouns.

Pretend my name is Snuffaluowletus.
That would be a NOUN.

And pretend that you're giving me cocaine.

You could say....."I gave the cocaine to Snuffalufowletus."

OR, you could just say..."I gave the cocaine to HIM."

HIM is a PRONOUN,
because it replaces a NOUN.
