OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which disorder is characterized by the following: a pattern of recurring thoughts or behaviors, such as repeatedly checking if doors are locked, that prevents people from going about their day normally?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We call that "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder." It's where we have repeated thoughts, they we just cannot seem to get rid of. ~~~~ A THOUGHT that won't go away is called an OBSESSION. A BEHAVIOR, that we keep doing, is called a COMPULSION. Obsessions usually come with compulsions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@InYourHead is correct. Obsessive compulsive disorder can result in thoughts and actions of just about anything, and often there is no given reason.

OpenStudy (dean.shyy):

Paranoia.
