Rewrite 7(40 + 2) as the sum of two products

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

distribute the 7 into the parenthesis what is 7 times 40? what is 7 times 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7*40=280 7*2=14

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

right... so you have 280 + 14 that is the sum of 2 products.....if they wanted it simplified it would just be 294...but they did not ask for the answer...so 280 + 14 would be it :)

What is the multiplicative inverse of -1/9?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

I believe that means the reciprocal..... the reciprocal is when you flip the fraction...and the product is 1 so the multiplicative inverse of -1/9 would be -9/1 or just write it as -9 am I correct here?
