A salesman makes a 5% commission on all he sells. How much does he have to sell to make $1500?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

300

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks how did u do it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

never mind ill figure it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i made a mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

X=1500/.05 X=$30,000 AMOUNT OF SALES.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.05X=1500

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Right you think...how many things must he sell at 5% commision to reach 1500 x ( .05) = 1500

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

so when solving for x....you divide both sides by .05 as @joshhhx has shown
