A skating rink will sponsor a field trip for a school if at least 250 students out of the total 2340 sign up for it.A survey was conducted asking students which activity they wanted for the trip. SKATING = 20 STUDENTS BOWLING = 30 STUDENTS GOING TO A MOVIE = 110 SWIMMING = 40 Based on the data above how many students are likely to choose skating?
@electrokid
what you want to do is apply the sample results to the general population
Could you explain in further detail,please.?
sure, what is the total number of kids who filled out the survey?
skating over total is percentage of people interested in skating
its 200 total students
right so 20/200 is .10 or 10% given this we know that 10% of the students want skating Multiply 10% by the total number of kids in the school and this will give the number of kids who want skating (In the entire school not just the survey)
ok.... thatks. let me attempt it.
One moment..
10% x 20/200?
oh. what is ten percent of the schools 2340 students?
.10 *2340 or 234
mmhm.
I got '234'.
According to Google Calculator.
they wanted at least 250 so doesn't look like skating is an option this year. :(
oh. lol.
