An ice cream cone at Louie's consists of a cone, 1 scoop of ice cream, and one topping. There are 3 different types of cones, 8 different flavors of ice cream, and 4 different toppings. The customer has the option of declining a topping. How many different ice cream cones could be ordered? (I have no idea where to even start on this one- please help me set-up and solve because i am lost)

3 (cones) times 8 (ice cream)=? (3*8)=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about the 4 toppings?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we will get there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok- so i have 24 right now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so 24 times the 4 toppings? 24*4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

96- that's it? It isn't anymore complicated than that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope. 24 choices without the topping and 96 choices with the toppings.
