please some one help me

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Remember what we did in the previous problem. On the left side, x is being multiplied by 3 and then 2 is subtracted. Start from the last operation, and do it in reverse. The last operation is subtracting 2. What is the opposite of subtracting 2? Then the other operation is multiplying by 3. What is the opposite of multiply by 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the oppisite is adding 2

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Excellent. So first step is add 2 to both sides.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Now what is opposite of multiply by 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok divide is the opisite

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Great, so second step is divide both sides by 3

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

So the two steps are: Add 2 to both sides. Divide both sides by 3. Which choice is that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um that would be C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am I right

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You got it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you for the help
