Simplify 64^-2/3 A. -1/16 B. 1/16 C. -16 D. 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

((64^-2)^1/3) think of it that way, i would suggest doing the fraction power first, because 64^1/3 is 4, then 4^-2 is 1/(4^2) or 1/16

But how do you square the number if it has a negative? i dont understand how to do that
