Solve the following system of equations: −2x + y = 1 −4x + y = −1 How do I legitimately get the answer? And no games I need to know. Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from 1st eq. , y=1+2x put this value of y in 2nd eq. -4x + (1+2x)=-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh.. This gets me a coordinate pair?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I jut regularly solve for the x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve for x , then put that value of x in any eq. to get y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh this makes sense. Thanks sir.
