Is 8 a solution of x < -1 or x > 7? [I got no, just checking my answer, thank you!]

it most certainly is

remember when it is asking "or" ...you only need a number that satisfys 1 set

so

is 8 either less than -1....or is 8 greater than 7?

if it satisfys either one of those....it is a solution
