one question.. what grade is this taught?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9th

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i cant help. im a grade below... 8th im really sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/ dang I really need help!

Directrix (directrix):

If a line is parallel to one side of a triangle and intersects the other two, then it divides them proportionally. So, x is to (x + 5) as (x - 2) is to (x + 1) x/(x+5) = (x-2)/(x+1) Cross multiply and solve for x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Directrix helps me alot. He is really good. He knows how to explain it right and help you. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay I know how to cross multiply but i dont think im gonna do that right... and thanks @k3nzi14

Directrix (directrix):

Go ahead and crank it out. Post your work here and we will check. Be brave.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your welcome, Even though i couldn't help much.:/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no @Directrix I honestly dont know how to do that one I can set it up but thats about it

Directrix (directrix):

@k3nzi14 You can always check the algebra.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oht that wasnt to me haha

Directrix (directrix):

x/(x+5) = (x-2)/(x+1) x(x+1) = (x+5)(x-2)
