She screamed and he put his hand over her mouth to stifle the scream. Prince Edward woke up immediately. The door opened and a guard came in furiously.
“How did he escape? Why did you let him?” she exclaimed once he took Prince Sanford off the bed.
“My guards were letting him have a tour of the castle. However, it was not the castle he wanted to see, instead it was you. Come on you, back to the dungeon,” the guard commanded.
“That’s another two more years in prison for you. Give this message to each and every guard that is in the dungeon: don’t let Prince Sanford out of the dungeon at night; if the order is not obeyed then severe punishment will come to you,” Prince Edward demanded.
“So now your sounding like a king. You know you’ve got only five more lessons before you can become king,” said Anna. They were rubbing noses when the king came in.
“How dare you do that behind my back. You two are not sleeping in the same room again,” he said.
“We’re married papa. Besides, do you want us to do it in civic and disgrace you. It would not be a good idea. This is the only place that is private where nobody ever comes in,” she said.
“I heard a scream, is everything all right?” King Gordon asked.
“Don’t worry I have dealt with it with Edward’s help. Prince Sanford had had a tour of the castle last night ending up in my room this morning. Edward gave him two more years in prison. He also gave an order not to let the prisoner out to roam the castle at night,” said Anna.
“Did he do anything to you? Are you hurt?” King Gordon asked.
“No I caught him just in time before he did anything to me. Would you leave the room and let me get dressed so I can start on his lessons?” she asked.
“I might as well get ready too since me and your mom are the ones who were assigned to help you, well, see you in the village at nine sharp.” King Gordon left the room.
The couple called a maid each to come dress them, for that is how they get dressed in the morning. When the maids were done with them, it was nearly 8:45. Therefore, they hurried out the door. They got in the royal carriage just for them and told the driver to take them to village. “We need to be there by nine sharp.” Anna said.
The driver gathered up the reins and flicked the whip. The horses galloped to the village.
The bell tower started ringing the bell for nine o’ clock when the village came in view. The driver let the whip fly to the horses. By the time the last dong was going off King Gordon was in sight.
“You’re a little late,” he yelled.
They got out of the carriage. Queen Anna and King Gordon began to give Prince Edward a tour of the city. They told him how things worked, what things were, and asked that person to tell a story to them.
When they came to Margay Gray’s workshop, the king began to get nervous.
“What is the dilemma papa?” Queen Anna asked.
“You know the story Mr. Gray told your mother? Well I was the one who invited him to the castle and set him free. I told him not to let ‘anyone know it was I, if anyone asked why you rejected to work in the castle.’ That is why I am getting so nervous. I do not know what he is going to pronounce to me. Assure me you won’t tell your mother this, both of you.”
